The Strengthening Capacity on multi-hazard Risk Assessment in Tsunami affected Countries (SCRATCH) project was developed in response to 2004 Tsunami which had devastated the coastal communities of the South and South-east Asian region. The year long project was implemented in India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand and the target group was consist of staff and faculty members of the national organizations and universities/institutes.
