Every year Geoinformatics Center receives many intern students from many reputed universities in Thailand and Sri Lanka. For the last few years many local students from Thammasat University, Kasetsart University, Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi and some Srilankan students from University of Moratuwa, University of Sabaragamuwa have successfully completed their internships in GIC. Each intern student is assigned to a GIC staff member to supervise through out the training. They get the opportunity to engage in various ongoing projects and also to attend various training programs conduct in the center which help them to gain immense experience and knowledge during their internship.

GIC encourages all intern students to perform at their best during their internship, as it would be a definite advantage if they applying for an employment opportunity at GIC in future. During the past few years, GIC has recruited some interns upon completing their  degree programs, based on the character they showed during their internship.

"GIC facilitated the fulfillment of the aspirations of my internship which was a vital period of six months coupled to the BSc Engineering degree. GIC staff was very pleasant and friendly so I could gain a plenty of knowledge about real world applications of Remote Sensing and GIS. Most importantly the experience I gained was recommended and highly appreciated to get a placement for my higher studies at Australia. Last but not least AIT was an unforgettable place to experience the multiplicity of cultures and to enjoy the beautiful, full of life Thailand"
